SPORTS clubs and activity providers in West Devon can get advice and support on how to run their activities at an event in Okehampton on November 13.
Active Devon is holding a club support evening to help those who run sporting activities in the area plan for the future.
The evening will begin with a presentation from Active Devon giving an update on the new primary school sports programme and their links with national satellite sports clubs.
There are two workshops to choose from once the presentation is finished. The first is learning how to support a club's volunteer workforce, looking at recruiting, developing and retaining key people at a sports club. The second looks at how to make a sports club sustainable through grants and funding, and how to take control of their long term aims.
The session will finish with a question and answer session.
A spokesperson from Active Devon said: 'The evening is relevant for any club committee member. We encourage you to bring several members to attend presentations and workshops for future committee discussion and action.'
The event takes place in the OCRA sports pavilion from 6pm to 8pm. For further information and to book a place visit http://www.activedevon.org/clubsupport">www.activedevon.org/clubsupport
