ADULT Learning Week in Okehampton begins on Monday, May 17, with free leisure and learning opportunities ranging from arts and crafts to computer training on offer.

Staff at Okehampton College are using the week to promote adult learning opportunities and ?taster? courses for local people.

The wide range of opportunities available offer people the chance to try something new or to start a new career path by improving their qualifications and their employment prospects.

Courses are primarily aimed at adults living in Okehampton and the surrounding rural villages and a community learning roadshow will be touring the area throughout the week to spread the word.

The week begins on Monday, May 17, in the Community Centre at Okehampton College between 10am and 3pm with a drop-in information and advice day. This is an opportunity for anyone wanting to have an informal chat about what leisure and learning courses are available locally and to get help with planning the next step if they are considering a change of career or want to get relevant qualifications.

On Tuesday, May 18, the Adult Learning Roadshow moves on to Chagford Primary School where a free session in basic computing for parents and grandparents will be on offer between 10am ? 11.30am.
