aON Tuesday April 11 I went to the Post Office to pay (by cheque) my council tax, allowing for clearance by the due date April 15 2000.
I was asked if I had a yellow card for swiping. Nowhere, in the correspondence from West Devon Borough Council is there any mention of having to produce a yellow card in order to pay.
I was told that I could have sent the cheque by post and I wish that I had because I had to pay an extra pound for the service, thus adding insult to injury!
