LONG distance runner Adam Holland from Tavistock made his way down to Cornwall to take part in the Votwo Atlantic Coast Challenge 2010 on Friday.

Adam had to complete three coastal marathons in three days — in this case running or walking from near Padstow to Land's End over some of the most scenic but testing terrain the UK has to offer.

Adam enjoyed all three days and was lucky not to have to run in the hard race. The event is a challenge not a race.

On day one Adam was third back in a time of 3hrs 57mins 37secs just one mintue behind the first runner.

On day two Adam was first back in a time of 3.43.00 and on day three Adam was third back in a time of 5.03.35, finishing third overall.

It is 99 marathons down, just one to go for this extraordinary athlete. Adam said he can't wait to see all his friends and family at the Eden Project on Sunday where he will be doing his 100th marathon.
