WORLD record holder Adam Holland, who last week smashed his Brathay Ten in Ten endurance record in the lake District, was this week pounding the hills in North Devon during the hottest May weekend in five years.
Following just five days of rest after running ten marathons in ten days, Adam competed in the Exmoor Coastal Marathon last Saturday, coming in fourth in a time of 4.17.24 seconds. It is another marathon under the belt for the Tavistock runner, who is aiming to enter the Guinness Book of Records with another title, as the youngest athlete in the world to have completed 100 marathons — a feat he hopes to complete in October.
Not content with one day of athletics, Adam then competed in the second Devon Open Series track and field meeting in Plymouth the next day.
He won the triple jump event with a distance of 11.07m, won the 400m in 66.6 seconds, came second in the javelin with a throw of 25.9m, also clinched second in the mile race in a time of 4.56.4 and came third in the 800m in a time of 2.16.8.
