HALF-TERM entertainment is coming thick and fast with a 'unique' show scheduled to take place in Hatherleigh next week. Hatherleigh Players, well known for delivering exciting and spectacular performances, will be presenting, 'The Nutcracker,' in pantomime, from Wednesday February 20 to Saturday February 23. The pantomime will be held in Hatherleigh's new community centre and starts at 7.30pm. The performance will be 'loosely' based on the well-known ballet with the story focussing on a young girl, Clara, a prince, a pack of rats and their king and a whole kingdom of delicious sweets. When 'Sugar Plum' disappears, brave Prince Florimund and Clara set off on a rescue adventure. The show will be full of song, dance and even a little bit of magic! Tickets, available from Richard Tidball Insurance Services and Salar Gallery in Hatherleigh, cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children and concessions. There is a special offer on Wednesday February 20 with tickets at £1 for Brownies or Guides, if accompanied by a paying adult. A similar offer is available on Thursday February 23 with tickets at £1 for school children, again, if they are accompanied by a paying adult.
