IT was a full on weekend for members of Tavistock U15s squad.

On Friday Danny Thompson and Freddy Frost were at Exeter representing Devon in their match against Bristol which Devon comfortably won 24-0, with Thompson scoring a try.

The team celebrated by having their photos taken with the Rugby World Cup which was being displayed on the Sweet Chariot Tour.

On Saturday Tavistock entertained Cirencester with a couple of Sevens matches.

The first was a tight affair with Tavistock coming out winners 10-7 with tries from Frost and Lawson.

In the second match Tavistock , after a slow start, dominated the visitors with tries from Lawson, Edwards and Burton — ably supported by Thompson, Stewart, Frost and Jenns as well as members of the U14s.

On Sunday the same squad, with the addition of Vella and Broome, travelled to the County U15s festival at Crediton. Here they did not fare so well.

After putting up a good performance against Ivybridge, they were overwhelmed by a very strong Devonport Services — boasting four ex-Tavistock players! — and were not able to raise their game for their final match against a well drilled Sidmouth.

It is hoped that next Sunday's return to Crediton for the final XV match of the season will be a less gloomy occasion both in terms of results and the weather.
