TERENCE Scarborough (Letters, February 3) complains about persecution of Christians. Pah! Christians are not only free to practice their faith in their private lives but are indeed protected in doing so by the very Human Rights Act Mr Scarborough complains about.
The B&B owners who refused to allow a gay couple to share a bed were the ones persecuting a minority. The law only prevents people with prejudiced opinions from forcing those opinions on others in the provision of services in the public domain. It does not prevent them holding such opinion or from practicing them in their own private lives.
