A SALES negotiator from Horrabridge was killed in a car crash on a country road near her home, an inquest heard. Gail Madeline Dean, of Whitchurch Road, died after her Daihatsu car was in collision with a Land Rover Freelander on a road between Grenofen and Horrabridge. The inquest at Plymouth heard that, just moments earlier, the LandRover had been travelling in the middle of the road, narrowly avoiding an Audi convertible. Ms Dean, 57, may have had time to react but had ?little or no time? to avoid the collision on March 4 this year, Plymouth Coroner Nigel Meadows was told. The inquest heard that Martin Durrant, the driver of the LandRover, was reported to police for driving without due care and attention, but no charges were brought. Mr Meadows, recording a verdict of accidental death, told Ms Dean?s daughter Cheri Hunston: ?You have my very sincere sympathies. The inquest is one further step in the grieving process.? Mrs Hunston later called on motorists to slow down to avoid a similar tragedy. ?Since I learned of my mum?s death, my body has never stopped aching with grief,? she said. ?I?ve been robbed of my mum and my best friend.?
