TAVISTOCK Music Academy has now been running for a full year, and to celebrate, the children went on tour recently.

They packed their instruments and music into a 'tour bus' and drove around West Devon primary schools, performing in their ensembles. There were performances from the ukulele group, Big Noise Choir, percussion group, orchestra, guitar group and jazz band.

A barbecue for friends and family followed, where lots of the students performed solos, duets or small group pieces that they have learned in their own time. Thanks have been extended to Tavistock Round Table, which loaned the barbecue.

The Academy welcomes new members when it starts again on September 23. It is held on Friday evenings from 4pm to 6.30pm at Tavistock College, and is open to seven tyo 18-year-olds.
