STAFF and residents at Aalen House in Okehampton are holding a special event later this month, in celebration of the Queen?s 80th birthday. It is also the end of the first year at Aalen House for the PSP Group, so to commemorate the event, a cheese and wine reception has been organised between 3.30pm and 5.30pm on Friday May 26. Guests of honour at the event will be West Devon and Torridge MP Geoffrey Cox and new mayor of Okehampton, Cllr Frances Luxton. Mr Cox will be presenting Aalen House with a special picture of the Queen, which has been sent by Buckingham Palace. Margaret Stewart, company administrator, said: ?Because PSP has several nursing homes in the area, we have quite a few residents who are also 80 this year, so in celebration of that, the palace agreed we could have this picture as part of our own celebrations.?
