I WOULD like to send congratulations to our library staff for their hard work on the event 'Tavistock in the Victorian Age'.
Interesting talks by people who gave up their time to talk on subjects such as mining and how veins of minerals were formed, how to date photos using the information that is in the photo and the effects of The Victorian age on Tavistock itself and the Bedford/Russell Family — their influence and patronage to name a few.
Though the week-long event was well prepared and well executed, it would seem that our only local paper did not think it worthy of coverage. You have missed a great chance in not showing how this town of ours history was brought to life.
