However fear not, as this is when the Tavonians Theatre Company stages its murder mystery 'Weddings can be Murder' written by Shelley Pitter and Martin Dearlove and hosted by the Lions Club.
Set in the 1930s, diners will be attending the wedding of Henry Berrington and Lily. Lady Berrington disapproves of her son's bride so it's just as well she doesn't know what her own husband is up to.
As diners are served their three course meal amid the chaos of the wedding, they are invited to be alert for clues and spot the villain before the police do.
The event starts at 7pm and tickets will cost £30 per person which includes the three course dinner. As Murder Mystery evenings have become so popular over the last few years, advance booking with the Terrace Restaurant on 01822 610046 is essential. Diners are welcome to dress as 1930s wedding guests if they choose.
The Lions Club is very pleased to be working with the Tavonians once again in this fund raising evening and this year the selected charity is Meningitis Now. This organisation funds research into the illness, raises awareness of it and supports sufferers.
The Tavonians also held a Murder Mystery evening at St Paul's Church in Gulworthy recently.
As well as enjoying a tasty meal, the 88 wedding guests were entertained in solving the mystery, and £825 was raised towards the work of the church.
