THE annual Guy Fawkes Carnival took place in Northlew last Friday and was blessed with fine weather.

The evening, which was organised by the Northlew Silver band members, began with the judging of the fancy dress classes in a crowded Victory Hall.

Entries were up on last year and were varied and imaginative. Among them was this entry — 'Northlew's Answer to Swan Lake' — with Winifred Davey and Elaine Peak.
