GUITARIST and composer Ant Law is back on tour this spring performing new trio music as well as favourites from his critically acclaimed album Zero Sum World and debut Entanglement.
Matt Ridley joins Ant on double bass and the drum chair is split between Asaf Sirkis and Dave Hamblett.
Over the last decade Ant has established himself as a significant compositional talent with an unorthodox yet original guitar approach working in new improvisation-focused music.
He studied at Edinburgh University and Berklee College of Music and now lives in London regularly performing with renowned musicians such as Tim Garland, Jason Rebello and Paul Riley.
Ant is a pioneer in the ‘Perfect Fourths’ tuning system for guitarists and is a published author on the subject.
‘I can’t wait to hit the road with these chaps – we’ve all worked together in different projects but never as a three-piece.
‘After a few long quintet tours I am ready to explore the trio format and the space it presents. I’m looking forward to delving into the South-Indian element in more depth than I have done previously.’
Ant will present his Art of Rhythm tour at the Blue Vanguard Jazz Club, Exeter on Thursday, April 28.
