LEWDOWN Cricket Club held their annual lunch at Trethorne Golf Club recently. Alan Whitton, chairman, welcomed 85 players, members and friends.
Due to poor weather and new youth league restructuring not many games had been played by colt teams.
Many older colts played in the Tamar Evening League, captained by Richard Hayden, and were successful in winning division two ? a fine achievement for a young team.
The senior team captained by Brenden Worth won the Roger Young Land Rover Tamar League, only losing two games, another fine achievement as the team contained many young colt players.
The team was also runner-up in the Drake Manor Inn Knock-Out Cup.
The team has now been accepted into the Devon League with new challenges to look forward to next season.
Trophies were presented by club president Frank Rolfe.
The club?s annual meeting will be held at the Blue Lion on Sunday October 13 at 7pm.
