OKEHAMPTON'S New Life Church is holding an 'Auction of Promises' on Saturday March 10 at 6.30pm. Among the items under the hammer will be a new saxophone and a china dinner service, but the main attraction will be bidding for people and their talents — whether you're after somebody with DIY skills, gardening experience, or skilled in a particular craft. All profits will go towards the refurbishment of the church's basement for the use of children, youth and community, and everybody is welcome. The church is also holding a 'Golden Ticket' family service on Sunday March 11 at 10.30am. Inspired by Willy Wonka, the service promises to be a morning of fun and frolics, presented by 'Hands up!
