A FUNDRAISING event hosted by Milton Abbot Primary School has raised more than £700 for the Nepal earthquake disaster.

The event, which took place on Thursday, June 18, saw the sale of a range of Asian themed treats, including Indian, Nepalese and Japanese food and fair trade crafts from Nepal.

A presentation and talk from Nepalese student Saurav Rai from Kathmandu was also arranged by organiser Tamami Benjamin.

Saurav talked to the children about his home city and the difference the earthquake had made to the community.
