BURDON Grange Care Home celebrated the Ruby Run in style this year with their very own 'Ruby Weekend'.
On Saturday June 9, residents, staff, family and friends embarked on the home's special Ruby Ramble.
The ramble was tailored to individual capabilities so that all residents aged between 18 and 65 and who live with either a physical disability or acquired brain injury could take part.
More than 40 residents, staff, family and friends took part in the four-mile walk along the Ruby Way cycle path, enjoying a picnic brunch at the halfway point.
The home expressed thanks to everyone who helped plan and run the event.
The following day, six staff members took part in the Ruby Run relay event, and clinched first place. The victorious team was presented with their trophy by one of the home's residents, Hannah Lavell.
Hannah was lucky enough to be selected as one of the 8,000 inspiring people to carry the Olympic torch as it makes it way around Great Britain. She carried the torch through Ilfracombe on May 21.
The money raised by the event is to be split evenly between the residents fund and the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
