TO celebrate its 25th anniversary the Phoenix Dance Theatre will be bringing a quadruple bill to Exeter's Northcott Theatre. The cutting edge dance company will celebrate with 'Stories in Red', a mixed programme of works from four choreographers, for just two nights on November 29 and 30. Henri Oguike's Signal features five dancers, using powerful and sculptural movement, driven by Taiko drums and traditional Japanese music. A duet by Ben Duke and Raquel Meseguer revisits Adam and Eve after the fall, bickering over who to blame for losing paradise — highly physical moments of confrontation with witty spoken word interludes and an acoustic soundtrack. Laal — hindi for red — is a new solo work by Darshan Singh Bhuller, drawing on our associations with this passionate, symbolic colour. The final dancework of Stories in Red is Nopalitos, choreographed by Phoenix artistic director Javier De Fritos and Sadler's Wells — it draws on a vast range of Mexican themes and influences. Tickets, at £16.50 and £14.50 with half price concessions for under 16s, are available from the Northcott Theatre Box Office on 01392 493493.
