ORCHARD owners will have the opportunity to learn the correct technique for pruning their trees at a special workshop in Bere Ferrers.
The Devon Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group in conjunction with Tamar Valley Services will be holding an Orchard Workshop Pruning Day on February 12 at Greystone, by permission of Brian Lamb and John Harrison.
The day will begin at 10am with an introductory talk by Sally Hope Johnson from FWAG, and expert Charles Stanniland.
Afterwards, there will be a visit to the orchard and the chance for hands-on experience of pruning and maybe some limb removal from both old and young trees.
Charles Stanniland will discuss the merits of different tools and give instruction on pruning.
Places are limited for the workshop, and booking is essential. For more information, phone the Devon Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group on 01392 352012.
