A BUMPER apple harvest was celebrated in style in Bere Ferrers and Buckland Monachorum over the weekend.
The Apple Fest at Bere Ferrers, following on the success of last year?s event, proved popular once more, with people attending from far and wide ? including an apple farmer from Herefordshire.
There were apples on sale in various forms, including toffee and chocolate apples, flans and chutney, and advice on growing, grafting and pruning apple trees. The children?s competition to produce an animal made from apples brought forth some imaginative creations.
The apple pressing proved so popular it continued until 6pm to cope with demand.
Buckland Monachorum?s celebrations included an apple pie competition for pupils at St Andrew?s School.
