GREEN hands turned pink to raise money for breast cancer . . . The staff at Mole Avon Town and Country Store donned pink attire on Friday October 26 for the national ?Wear It Pink Day.? The day, organised by the Breast Cancer Campaign, was a nationwide event to raise money for continued research into a cure for breast cancer. Mole Avon staff pulled out all the stops with pink wigs, pyjamas, ties, socks, shirts and make up on show, dazzling the customers. In Okehampton, pockets of pink jumped out of every doorway as the town rallied to support the cause. October has been Breast Cancer Awareness month and the ?Wear It Pink? day was another event to raise money and continue raising awareness. The Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity that specialises in funding independent breast cancer research throughout the UK. A spokesman for the charity said: ?Our research looks at how to improve diagnosis and treatment and how to provide a better understanding of the development of breast cancer. ?Our ultimate aim is either curing the disease or to find a way of preventing it.?
