STAND-up comedian, writer and broadcaster Linda Smith was voted Wittiest Person by a BBC Radio 4 listeners poll in 2002 and her sharp wit constantly attracts rave reviews and eager audiences.
On Friday, September 17 she will be bringing her ?Wrap Up Warm? tour to the Wharf, Tavistock in what promises to be a night of innovative and well-observed comedy.
No stranger to the small screen or the radio Linda has appeared on BBC TV as the guest on Room 101; on Have I Got News For You, and in episodes of a new comedy panel game Q.I.; The Big Read; and Test The Nation.
She was on BBC Radio Four selecting a Pick of The Week; presenting a Great Lives programme about Ian Dury; and has appeared regularly on The News Quiz and Just A Minute.
Linda hits the stage running in her current full-length show ?Wrap Up Warm? which is a national 35 date tour and is an exhilarating evening of sparkling entertainment for connoisseurs of stand-up comedy.
She is a warm and witty performer and her show is an inventive show that blends the topical with the personal, the political with the surreal.

During the past two years, she has written and performed in two critically acclaimed series of her own BBC Radio 4 situation comedy Linda Smith?s A Brief History of Time Wasting.
Linda is the first woman team captain on BBC Radio 4?s News Quiz . Other legendary shows she has appeared on include Just A Minute and ?I?m Sorry I Haven?t A Clue?.
Linda has made an impact on TV viewers with a string of winning appearances on numerous programmes including Have I Got News for You, They Think It?s All Over and Call My Bluff,
Linda studied English and Drama at Sheffield University. She joined a professional touring theatre company before trying her hand at stand-up comedy ? first in a female double act before going solo and winning the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year.
