AFTER a recent sell out concert for the Calstock Festival, the Tamar classical guitar quintet will be presenting a concert at the village hall at 7.30pm this Saturday, July 20.

The organisers of the Calstock festival said: 'The geographical journey from South America to Sussex — via Cuba and Orkney — provided a variety of moods which clearly gave the audience much pleasure. '

All members of the ensemble live in the West Devon and East Cornwall area with one member from Brentor and one ex-Brentor. The quintet has played at many local festivals and other venues, and have been performing together now for more than ten years.

Most people enjoy the sound of the classical guitar as a solo instrument but hearing the range of effects, colours and timbres produced by five guitars is a new experience for almost everybody.

The evening will be set out with tables so bring along a bottle and enjoy an evening of magical music.

Tickets will be £5/ £3 conc. Further details from Barry Albrighton on 01822 860445
