OKEHAMPTON Golf Club Ladies' section captain Maureen Willcocks, had a marvellous turnout for her captain's tea on March 26.
A greensome stableford held over 16 holes was the format for the day, which 27 ladies attended.
The winning team with a wonderful score of 37 points, was Marcia Jones and Jenny Hutchinson, seen here receiving their prizes from their lady captain.
In second place were Penny Deakin and Lesley Hill with 30 points.
The tea was attended by 36 ladies and four men.
A presentation of the year's prizes preceded the tea, and most of the ladies received one prize or more.
A vote of thanks to the captain for a great fun-filled day was given by the vice-captain Cherry James and Iris Tancock told a wonderful anecdote.
The following Wednesday was an additional medal, this was won with a brilliant round of net 62, played by Lyn Atkinson, this brings an immediate reduction of handicap, from 37 to 32.
In second place was Mary Kier with net 71 and third was Marcia Holwill with net 73.
Seventeen ladies played.
Good luck to the ladies of Okehampton Golf Club, who on Friday start their county Sheelagh Creasey campaign. The first match is away at Tiverton.
