MANY congratulations to all those involved in organising the excellent Victorian Evening in Bere Alston last Saturday (December 3).

It was a great night with a variety of festive entertainment and quality crafts, gifts and festive fayre, including The Hut youth club who did a great job serving up delicious home-made soup, made from pumpkins the club members had grown on their allotment in the village.

The various clubs and groups who come together and put in lots of hard work for events like this are a credit to this village, where community as well as festive spirit are plentiful.
