THROUGH your pages I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the kind people who helped and offered to help when my wife collapsed and incurred a head injury in Anderton Lane during the evening of Monday, June 15. Caring people appeared from nowhere to help us by calling an ambulance, shielding us from traffic and keeping the situation under control. Virtually every car that passed the scene stopped and the driver or a passenger inquired whether they could help. After spending the evening at Derriford we are back home and my wife is sore but otherwise well. It was a frightening experience but it was wonderful to have so many people supporting us. When we moved to Tavistock three years ago we quickly realised how friendly people are here. Our experience yesterday was further proof of that kindness and friendliness. Long may it continue.
