THE Calstock Ferry will be running a special Christmas weekend service to mark the last in a successful run of the ferry project launched on an experimental basis back in the summer.

Mulled wine and mince pies will be on offer for all who use the ferry service up the River Tamar this weekend.

Organisers say after a winter break the ferry will set up weekend outings again starting next April.

They said they had been delighted with the success of the Calstock ferry in its inaugural year and wanted to celebrate in style this weekend.

The Calstock ferry departs from Calstock Quay and will be operating from 10.30am-1.30pm this Saturday, (December 22) and 10.30am-2.30pm this Sunday (December 23).
