A YOUNG Yelverton cricketer is hoping to set the New Year off in superb style, after being selected to take part in an overseas tour in South Africa.
William Murray has been chosen to captain the Devon U15s side which has been picked to visit the Western Provinces in February next year.
William, who is 15 and goes to Plymouth College, plays for has played cricket since he was eight years old and has represented the county since the age of 12.
His mother, Judith Murray, said William was thrilled about the trip, which leaves on February 6 for a fortnight.
?It?s very exciting for him ? he absolutely loves his cricket,? said Judith.
While in South Africa, William will play several teams and visit some of the townships too.
