A SPONSORED walk to raise money for Tavistock's Molly Owen Centre leaves the Pimple on Whitchurch Down next week, using two different routes.

Both walks will also finish at the Pimple — the longest being no further than four miles.

The entry fee for the walk is £1 with all money raised going directly to a social fund for the benefit of students attending the centre.

Patrick McLaughlin, unit manager, said: 'We are being well supported in this event by Mencap, our social fund and of course staff from the Molly Owen.

'We have also received messages of support from our local MP, John Burnett, and his wife, Billie.'

Anyone who would like to take part in the walk on Wednesday May 31 should contact Patrick McLaughlin on 01822 612981, or join the walkers at the Pimple at 9.30am.
