THE theft of a vehicle from Meavy, drunk and disorderly conduct and vandalism of a vehicle feature in this week’s #newsfromtheblues police page.

• POLICE are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after the theft of a green Suzuki Jimny from a property in Meavy.

The incident happened between 6am on Monday, July 3 and 6am on Tuesday, July 4.

Police are reminding members of the public to ensure that their personal possessions are secure at all times. • A MAN was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning for drunk and disorderly and criminal damage to a motor car in West Street, Tavistock. He had left a local pub and was warned about his drunken behaviour. However, rather than go home quietly he damaged a parked car and was arrested. He was taken to Charles Cross Custody. Police are continuing enquiries.

• POLICE are appealing for witnesses after £260 worth of plant equipment was stolen from Lidl in Tavistock on July 1 at 4.12pm. A man thought to have taken the items was seen getting into an orange Renault with one other man in the vehicle. CR/053073/17.

• A REAR garden shed at a property in Drake Villas, Tavistock, was burgled between July 1 at 1.30pm and Tuesday July 4 at 9.45am. CR/054195/17.

• AN unlocked vehicle was entered and searched while parked at Yelverton between July 3 and 4. Nothing was taken but police are reminding people to be careful and make sure their vehicles are secure at all times. CR/054348/17.

• A CAR parked from 2am on July 5 to 4pm on July 5 on Bannawell Street, Tavistock, was vandalised. The bonnet was keyed and both panels on the passenger side were damaged. CR/054486/17.

• WITNESSES are being sought after the glass pane door at Tavistock Library was smashed between 6pm and 1pm from July 4 to 5. CR/054519/17.

• A MALE and a female have been caught on CCTV leaving Karen's Restaurant, on Brook Street in Tavistock, without paying for two breakfasts on July 7 at 7.45am. CR/055041/17.

• THE death of a woman in her 50s found dead in the Walkhampton area last week is not being treated as suspicious.

A police spokesperson said they believed it was the result of a ‘medical episode’ and the file was passed on to the coroner.

Officers said the woman’s dog had been taken into the control of an animal shelter.
