POLICE are ‘not looking for anyone else’ in connection with an incident in Princetown which left two local police officers with stab wounds.

The incident happened after local and firearms officers were called to an address in Burrator Avenue in the early hours of this morning (Friday).

A 60-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody.

Ch Supt Daniel Evans said: ’To reassure local people in West Devon, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. We are supporting both officers and their families as well as the wider police family affected by this incident.’

Sgt Chris Chaloner, from Tavistock Police, added that there would be an increased police presence in Princetown for the whole day.

The Police Federation, which represents police officers, said that firearms officers who attended the incident provided emergency first aid to the injured officers, who are both local.
