FIREFIGHTERS were called to Monkokehampton last Saturday (May 19) to a report of a vehicle on its roof and ablaze.

Two crews from Hatherleigh and North Tawton attended the scene on the highway just before 1.30am and used a compressed air foam and a hose reel to extinguish the fire. Firefighters confirmed that no-one was inside the vehicle and checked the surrounding area for any casualties using thermal imaging cameras.
