POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at The Co-op store on The Parade in Yelverton in the early hours of last Tuesday (April 17).

Two men gained entry by smashing the glass of the door to the shop between 1.40am and 1.50am. Once inside, they targeted the cigarette kiosk and a safe, using power tools for access, with significant damage being caused to the store.

The store had to remain closed for several hours to allow for forensic examination to take place and for repairs to the damage. The burglary caused a loss of trading and substantial disruption for its customers and the local community.
