POLICE have urged parents in Okehampton to encourage their children to be mindful of others following reports of anti-social behaviour.
A police spokesperson said that residents had reported that a number of young people had been causing problems in several housing estates in the town.
Some of the reports stated that anti social behaviour had been taking place in the Meldon Fields estate — a site which is under construction.
The spokesperson said: ‘We are still receiving reports of children causing anti-social behaviour issues within housing estates, especially in Meldon Fields where it has been brought to our attention that children are playing within the construction site.
Building sites are not playgrounds, and young people should steer clear and stay safe.
‘Please can parents and guardians remind their children to be mindful when riding their bikes and scooters, and playing along the street. It is important to respect other people’s property and surroundings.
‘If anyone has any problems or concerns contact us on 101.’
