Tavistock Ladies 2nds 6 Liskeard 0 TAVISTOCK Ladies 2nds hockey team opened the game with first push back. Liskeard, with heavy tackling and persistent interception kept Tavistock?s goals at bay. However, the girls battled well and kept the pressure on the Liskeard team, to finally break through their heavy defence with a goal late in the first half to take the lead. Tavistock came out stronger and heavier in the second half to find the weaknesses in the Liskeard players. With structured passing, teamwork and confidence, Tavistock battled on to score a further three goals by Kate Eadie, Sarah Barrett and Julie Firth. Liskeard regrouped to come at Tavistock?s goal but strong defence ensured there were no shots at goal. A quick repossession of the ball by Tavistock enabled a further 2 goals to be scored before the final whistle. Player of the match: Sarah Guy.
