Feniton 5

Hatherleigh 2

HATHERLEIGH paid the price for a disastrous first 20 minutes in which they found themselves three goals down.

However, they rallied themselves and when Gary Knight superbly chipped the home defence, Jamie Halpin was on hand to bring the ball down and slot it in the corner of the net.

Within a few minutes, Halpin turned provider and swung in a good cross for Nathanial Davey to convert.

It stayed 3-2 at half-time and could well have been level had Halpin's superb volley not just gone over the bar.

The second half saw Hatherleigh push forward and Feniton dangerous on the counter attack. Chances fell at both ends but the breakthrough came just 15 minutes before the end when the home side finally got the ball through to the centre forward who converted.

The home side completed the scoring a few minutes from time, scrambling home from a corner.

Hatherleigh's next match is home to Okehampton on December 11.
