Duchy Premier
Boscastle 1
Gunnislake 1
NO goals were scored in the first half as chances were few and far between. Jarryd Kelly looked the most likely to break the deadlock in this period as on more than one occasion he caused panic in the home defence when running at them.
Boscastle took the lead in the early exchanges of the second period when the visitors could only half clear a free kick and an attacker took advantage to fire home from 8 yards.
Manager Andy Southcott then made an excellent tactical switch when he pushed Andy Waken up front to release Matt Avery to left wing and free up Steff Kelly to come in to centre midfield.
Within minutes Waken had got on to a loose ball and played an excellent square pass for Steff Kelly to run on to and finish well, to aid his 18th birthday celebrations.
Both sides worked hard in search of goals to claim victory but defences came out on top with only the occasional long range efforts being produced.
This Saturday sees a Godolphin side expected to challenge for the Premier division title visit Gunnislake for a 2.30pm kick-off.
