IT was an excellent meet for the 27 members of Tavistock Swimming Club competing at the Devon Development Gala, which took place at the Plymouth Life Centre.
Some of the members were competing for the first time for Tavistock Swimming Club in a gala and earned themselves some very good personal best times.
The swimmers achieved a total of 89 personal best times, with everyone achieving at least one.
The biggest improvements were by Alex Hobbs, who took over a minute off his personal best times in two events. Out of 112 swims, 96 achieved top 10 positions and 67 swims were medal winning!
Some swimmers achieved personal best times in all their events. Alex Hobbs achieved first places and personal best times in all his events, while Alfie Morgan gained six first places, as well as personal best times in all his 11 events.
First places were achieved by Ieuan Noakes, Sarah Teague, Lloyd Underwood, Hannah Walker and Sam Turner, in addition to all their personal best times, while Thanae Garland-Tsirka also gained two third places. Hamish Noakes, Callum Burden, Charlotte Walker and Beth Turner also gained personal best times in all their events. Alex Francis had the distinction of achieving first places in all his six events.
The following swimmers also competed at this gala: Gemma Arundel, Sam Bates, Jessamy Clemens, Carter Davis, Emily France, Amber Francis, Ellie Guy, Robert Harvey, Tyler Hunt, Ellie McCall, Laura Meredith, Daisy Morgan, Lucie Prior and Elizabeth Teague.
