Yelverton U11's (The Hurricanes) clinched the 'A' Division Cup with a nail biting six run win over Plympton at Whitchurch on Sunday.

Following their 2012 A division league success, the Hurricanes squad, were ably supported by three U11 Mosquitoes players.

They got off to a poor start with opener Jonathan Hawley trapped lbw in the first over. Senior players Lachlan Fulton and Alex Smith rallied o advance the score after 10 overs to 58-1 before both players 'retired' on 25 runs.

Tight Plympton bowling picked up four more wickets as the Hurricaness scored 90-5 in their 20-over innings.

In Plympton's reply bowlers Fulton (2-9)and player of the match Smith (3-13) returned goods spells for the Hurricanes while Sudhan Sudhakar (1-9) changed the course of the game when he bowled Plympton opener James Degg for 23. An excellent caught and bowled opportunity by Mossie Joseph Du Gay (1-10) helped to ensure that Plympton required 14 runs from the final over.  Despite Will Scott-Munden's 22no Plympton just fell short by 6 runs.

It mean Yelverton U11s completed the league and cup 'double' for an unprescedented third season in a row.

This Sunday Yelverton U11s B (The Mosquitoes) play in their cup final at Cornwood CC.
