MEMBERS and volunteers at Yelverton Bohemians Cricket Club helped put a shine on the club this weekend and spruced up their Langton Park home.
The spot of DIY was the club's response to the national NatWest Cricket Force initiative and the volunteers spent the weekend battling the elements to improve the facilities for its three senior and six colts sides who use the ground every summer.
The club has called it their home for more than 100 years and it is showing its age.
Chris Pearson, the club's vice chairman, said: 'It's been a great turnout over the weekend with over 30 volunteers giving up their time over a very wet weekend.
'We have managed to all chip in and buy paint and materials to improve our changing facilities and clubhouse. We have very limited funds but felt we owed it to our playing members to cheer up the facilities as much as possible.'
'We have now done all we can with the kind donations received to date, and would ideally look for additional donations and sponsorship to move it to the next level.
'If any companies are looking to increase their corporate responsibility we really need new flooring for the clubhouse, new furniture for the outside and new training equipment for our 100 plus youngsters we coach every week throughout the summer. We have a number of sponsorship opportunities available.
