MEMBERS of Yelverton Badminton Club were happy to rally around to celebrate the 87th birthday this week of Cyril Sparey (pictured above centre). Cyril is a former schoolteacher who still plays every week with opponents of all ages. The club considers him to be an inspiration to them by continuing to play badminton as well as maintain his many other interests. His friends in the group shared coffee and birthday cake and wished him well. Yelverton Badminton Club meets every Thursday evening from 7.30pm at St Paul's Church Hall. New members welcome.
