Active Alarms challenge bowl first round

Staddiscombe Colts 4

Yelverton Villa 1

VILLA started playing the superior football with passing moves releasing Mike Chatfield and Luke Collins to terrorise the Colts' fullbacks, who swung in crosses for Pomfret and Pridham. A corner after 15 minutes led to a superb back heeled goal by Adam Meason from the edge of the penalty area which came down from the crossbar to cross the line to deservedly put Villa ahead.

Unfortunately Villa gave away numerous free kicks one of which led to the equaliser.

Yelverton then had Pomfret send off for dissent just before the break.

Villa tried to continue to play football in the second half but the extra man and lack of fitness in some players proved to be too much.

Colts added three more for a flattering result in a game which Villa felt they could have won if they had kept 11 men on the pitch.
