YELVERTON Golf Club ladies played their September Stableford competition for the Murray rose bowl, which was presented in 1988 by Jean Murray following her captain's year. The competition is for bronze players only and the winner was Kay Creaven with 36 points. The runner up was Chris Longden, also with 36 points, but she was pipped on countback. n Yelverton  Golf Club veterans held their weekly team Stableford competition on September 24.  In first place on 103 points were Chelsea Davis, Richard Gard and Ken Wheeler. Second on 101pts were Des Palmer, Pete Dulson and Bill Davison and in third, with 96pts were Eric Whyte, Roger Mechan and Tony Westacott. n   Yelverton Golf Club lost 6-4 to Padbrook Park in the semi final of the Devon Men Veteran Golfers' Emerton Court trophy. Padbrook Park will now meet Staddon Heights at Churston in the final on October 6.
