WOODLAND Riders will be holding its annual Summer Jam and Club championships to be held at its woodland trails site at Gawton, Gulworthy on June 23 and 24.

Saturday will be a public open day to show off the club and the activities that members take part in.

There will be music, food and games, followed by the club's championship race on the Sunday to decide club champions.

The event was a huge success last year, and will set the scene for a major coup for the club in September, when the Gawton site has been chosen to host the South West Championships.

Simon Hubbard of Woodland Riders said: 'This is a huge event for our local club and will be of particular interest as it will be held on the newly built fourth track, called 'Proper Job.'

'This is nearly a kilometre long with huge berms and many jumps — it should be an amazing event with riders travelling some way to attend.'

The South West Championships will be held on September 18 and 19.
