THE first 20 minutes was an even affair before Hire took the lead when a quick break from the back saw Dave Wilkinson find space on the edge of the area and lobbed their keeper.

Straight from the kick off Hope equalised when some sloppy defending let the Hope midfielder score from eight yards.

Mark Norman was controlling the midfield for Hire and stifled every attack Hope were making.

At the start of the second half Hope scored their second with a well taken finish. Hire responded well with Des Newton causing lots of problems for the Hope defence and he got his reward when he made a good run into the box from the left and was taken down for a penalty. He stepped up himself to coolly slot the ball home.

Hire piled on the pressure and got their reward when Dave Wilkinson scored his second after a good flick from Nick Monk sent him clear and he guided the ball into the corner of the net. With two minutes left Hope were awarded a penalty but the Hire keeper made a great save to win the match for Tavi Hire and end Plymouth Hope's undefeated record.
