MORE than 70 of the South West’s road races took to the start line for the Tavistock Wheelers Brentor Road Race, held over 10 laps and reaching 50 miles of the Brentor circuit, despite challenging conditions of heavy showers and wind.

The Tavistock Wheelers-North Shore Gallery race team was strongly represented in the race and Huw Richards took a great third place and also won a sprint lap prize, sponsored by local creamery, Ambrosia.

Dan Strong also gained a top 13 place. Jordan Channon suffered a puncture while challenging late in the race for a top ten position. Prizes were presented by Sheila Burrows, chair of Brentor Parish Council.
