WEST Devon A kept up their decent run of big wins in the Tavistock Snooker League with a 4 -1 over Conservative C to remind leaders Conservative A that they have not gone away.

Con C’s Neale was never in the game as West Devon’s Brookes (29) ran away with it.

Hall had his chances for Con C, but in a scrappy frame he gave Lawrence one too many chances, which eventually Lawrence took.

Basset for Con C and Morris for WD A then had a one hour two minute marathon frame of epic proportions – the latter winning on a black ball finish.

Heathman then secured the match for West Devon A as he totally out potted Jago to make it three frames to his team.

Kevin Rich then made it four for WD A but a superb performance from Davies made him fight all the way to the pink ball, with Davies even having the opportunity to steal it for himself.

It looked like another mauling was on the cards for the Conservative Z team, when Lillicrap fell to the rampant Shrimpton (junior) of West Devon D in the first frame of the evening.

McKechnie (senior) for Conservative Z, however saw things differently and produced a solid performance against Decieco who helped his opponents cause with a large number of unforced errors,  conceding a fair amount of points. McKechnie (junior) for Con Z, not to be outdone by his dad, followed on with a tour de force against Shrimpton (senior) who struggled against the odds to keep up with his opponent.

Mayors for Con Z, proved his worth to his team with a controlled performance against Murton notching up breaks of 25 and 20 and taking the frame comfortably.

It remained for Hodge to complete the evening with a winning performance against his old rival, Williams of WD D, a much needed four points for the Con Z team.

Conservative A kept their hot run of form going with a deserved 4-1 win over Golf A, as they held on to top spot.

Despite a fine effort from Golf A’s Doidge it was Wiles that set the Con Z off on their winning ways, ably backed up by Babb who managed to keep the lid on Buchanan to stretch the Con Z’s lead.

Not many people in the league can keep Golf’s Turnbull quite but Con’s Evans was just the man for it as he secured the win for his team. Pope pulled one back for Golf as he managed to take a re-spotted black to inch out Bell in the closest of close frames.

Normal business then resumed for the Con Z’s with Carruthers, in no mood for prisoners, side-lining the dangerous Ruth, a tasty 37 break his reward for his total dominance of his frame.
