WEST Devon A finished their league campaign off as worthy runners up with a commanding 4-1 win over rivals West Devon B.

Lawrence for the A team finished on a high with a solid win over Rich (senior), followed by a dominant Brookes (23) display over Hart to put the A team two up.

Hoare reduced the B team arrears with a hard fought win over Morris to cap a good season for this young talented player.

The A team bounced back again with Taylor getting the better of the B teams stand in skipper Rich (junior) to finish off a ‘mixed bag’ season for both players.

No problems for Kevin Rich as he completed another unbeaten season with a regulation win over Horrell to stretch his sides winning tally to 4-1.

Another good season for West Devon A, and consolation for the B team in that they still have an outside chance of ousting West Devon D from top of the B Division spot in their ‘head to head’ game with them next week.

Con B finished their league season off with a less than convincing 3-2 win over West Devon C to cap a particularly uneventful campaign.

McKechnie (junior) had little trouble disposing of West Devon’s Grigg to put the Con’s one up.

One of the league’s top players Evans suffered only his fourth loss of the season at the hands of Williams as Williams kept his composure to slot in a re-spotted black to produce one of upsets of the season.

The Con’s got their nose in front again with Lillicrap producing a sparkling performance to dispose of Wannacott. The next frame was never in doubt as Anderson went on a veritable potting spree from start to finish, giving West Devon’s Elliott no chance.

With the game in the bag for the Con’s it was ‘master cue-man’ Hodge that reduced the arrears for West Devon with a typically sound display to pinch the frame from Moloney on the black ball.

Both teams will probably look back over this season with a sense of underachievement of what they are undoubtedly both capable of.
